ABOUT US > LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT

Happy New Year Colorado PRIMA Members! I hope that each of you had a chance to enjoy your family and had some time to relax this holiday season.

As we welcome 2010, I would like to take a moment and reflect at the incredible year 2009 was for Colorado PRIMA. With our tireless President we had a full schedule of monthly meetings, an excellent Fall Conference, joint Colorado PRIMA & Rocky Mountain Risk Management Society (RIMS) meeting, count-less networking opportunities and we have completed our quest of obtaining our 501(c)(3) status. On behalf of Colorado PRIMA I wish to thank Steve Bedard for his time and energy serving Colorado PRIMA as a President. We look forward to having him as a Past President and serving as the 2010 Fall Confer-ence Chair. Thank you!

Thank you to all of you who attended our December Holiday Luncheon. It is always such an amazing place to come to year after year to celebrate the holidays with our PRIMA colleagues. The PRIMA Board would like to express our gratitude to the numerous chapter affiliates who provided the gifts for our raf-fle. Your support to our organization helps keep us going and we appreciate it. Thank you!

One year ago I recall thinking that by the beginning of 2010 our economy would rebound and jobs would be plentiful. A year later it is clear that while the economy is starting to rebound, there is a longer road. While some sectors of the economy are starting to emerge from the crisis, others are just starting to get into the thick of it. Jobs that were thought to be secure are no longer. Employees are eager to take on extra tasks to be looked upon as valued employees.

At the November CO PRIMA Board Meeting, it was decided to discontinue the joint September meeting with the Rocky Mountain Risk Management Society (RIMS) due to the low attendance of CO PRIMA mem-bers to the event. In its place the chapter will hold a monthly meeting.

What can we do to make sure that we are valued and our opinions are heard? Come join Colorado PRIMA and Bill Rush with Summit Point Consulting, for his presentation on Risk Management: Being an Internal Influencer. The meeting will be located at Flood & Peterson, Inc. Networking starts at 9 a.m. and the meeting will start at 10 a.m.

I look forward to seeing you there!
